Mkude ("Mkude," "we," "us," or "our") is a software-as-a-service product that helps restaurants generate menu descriptions, social media posts, and customer review replies. Mkude is owned and operated by Lefking Enterprise (T) Limited, registered in Tanzania.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, Lefking Enterprise (T) Limited is the data controller for personal information collected through mkude.com.
We collect the minimum information needed to operate the service, issue access codes, process payments, and provide support.

We do not use your information to show you advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We process your information on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing the service you subscribed to or claimed a free trial for), legitimate interest (preventing fraud and free-trial abuse, improving the service), and consent (where you have explicitly agreed, such as marketing communications you opt into).
Mkude relies on a small number of trusted third-party providers to operate. Each only receives the minimum information needed to perform its specific function.

Content you submit to the writing tools is sent to Anthropic's or Google's API for the sole purpose of generating your requested output. We do not permit these providers to use your content to train their general-purpose models, where such controls are available to us as a business customer.
We retain account and access code information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle support requests, disputes, or legal obligations — typically up to 24 months after your last activity. Free-trial fraud-prevention records (device identifiers, email hashes) are retained for up to 12 months to prevent repeat abuse. Payment transaction records are retained for as long as required by Tanzanian tax law, typically 5 years.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit, access-controlled storage via Cloudflare's infrastructure, and restricted internal access to personal data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.
Because we use global infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, Anthropic, Google, Resend), your information may be processed in countries outside Tanzania, including the United States. Where this occurs, we rely on these providers' own compliance frameworks and contractual safeguards for cross-border data transfer.
Mkude is a business tool intended for restaurant owners and staff. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Mkude uses minimal browser storage (session storage and local storage) to keep you signed in during your session and to remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Mkude after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
